Yoga Therapy

w/ Ashley Nicole

Yoga Therapy is a holistic approach to healing that incorporates the ancient philosophies of yoga into traditional talk therapy, including yoga postures, breathing techniques, relaxation exercises, meditation, somatics, and even nutritional advice to treat the client on all levels: mental, physical, and emotional. In a yoga therapy session, we talk about the different aspects of your life that could be contributing to your challenges and work to integrate healthy mindsets and practices that will bring more balance, harmony, and well-being into your life.

What to Expect:

Each 60-minute session will open with a short grounding meditation and moves into a discussion around current life challenges and goals using yoga philosophy as a framework for healing. Discussion may be followed by a movement practice, a yin yoga practice, or a guided meditation. Each session may look different depending on the energy that is present that day – some days all discussion, some days more movement or meditation. We close and I send you on your way feeling clear, more centered, at peace, and with a take-home practice to incorporate or deepen your learnings. Wear comfortable clothing, and come as you are. Any props and equipment will be provided, but you may bring your own yoga mat if you would like.

Ashley is one of the most innovative and amazing healers.

Dulce D.

Ashley was able to pinpoint exactly where in my body I was holding emotions and helped me gently ease into release and gave me tools to use between sessions to maintain the feeling of ease. She introduced me to softness in healing and I needed to learn that. So giving me what I needed and not what I wanted was part of the gift. A wonderful experience I would highly recommend.

Alyssa M.

Ashley is intuitive and a deep listener. I was experiencing a very difficult and transformative time in my life when we were working together. She supported me to examine my strengths, transform my stuck points and make empowered choices. Her grounded, calming presence helps you feel safe and seen. Ashley is a natural at using the healing tools of Yoga to support whole-person healing!

Christina G.

I left our sessions feeling empowered, more grounded and truly supported by you and the Universe. I felt like you truly saw me and trusted me to navigate what was troubling me. You really know how to reflect a person’s wholeness while guiding them to see and shift their blind spots.

About Ashley

E-RYT500 | C-IAYT

Hello sweet soul, thank you for being here!

I started practicing yoga in highschool after hearing of the many benefits to the physical body, but it wasn’t until 2009 while attending college in Boulder, Colorado that my mind was blown wide open to the profound impact yoga and meditation had on my mental and spiritual bodies. I had been battling a period of anxiety and was working with a psychologist, simultaneously reading the book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, and consistently practicing yin yoga, when I awoke to the several parallels between yoga philosophy, meditation, and my psychological well-being.

After graduating college and moving back to my hometown, I once again struggled with anxiety, and once again I turned to yoga. With the intention of self-empowerment, personal growth, and transformation, I completed a year-long 250 hour yoga teacher training program, a two-year long 500 hour training, and a three-year long 800 hour Comprehensive Yoga Therapy Training program (C-IAYT), all at the Yoga Life Institute under Dr. Bob Butera. The training programs at YogaLife have their roots in a longstanding Classical Yoga lineage from The Yoga Institute of Mumbai, India which focuses on making the practical applications of yoga philosophy accessible to the everyday householder, turning yoga into a way of life, not just a practice.

...more about Ashley
In 2018, I took a leap of faith and left my corporate marketing job to travel, teach, and study yoga and meditation internationally, most notably in India at the original Yoga Institute of Mumbai. When I returned from traveling, I decided to dedicate my life to helping people heal and began my career as a full-time yoga therapist and yoga and meditation instructor. Over the years I also received additional certifications in Yin, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Nutrition, Women’s Fitness, and Yoga Psychology.

All of my certifications allow me to create a holistic approach to healing that incorporates not only yoga postures but breathing techniques, relaxation exercises, meditation, and nutritional advice to treat the whole client on all levels: mental, physical, and emotional. In a yoga therapy session, we talk about the different aspects of your life that could be contributing to your challenges and work to integrate healthy practices that will bring more balance, harmony, and well-being into your life. It includes but goes beyond traditional talk-therapy to include somatics, movement, and energy work.

I believe that yoga, meditation, and counseling are the keys for cultivating self-awareness, contentment, and long-lasting healthy relationships and I look forward to sharing my insights with you on our healing journey together.
