The Spiritual Landscape Circle: Messages in Wax
A monthly circle for deepening your conversation with the divine
How do you talk to the divine? How do you listen for an answer? This month, as the nights grow long, we gather around candlelight to listen for the messages the season holds.
In many cultures, people have kindled lights in the darkest time of year, and some have poured melted wax into water to receive guidance. The wax takes shape as it cools, and those shapes become symbols to read and reflect on. In this circle, you’ll learn the history of this old folk practice, light a candle with an intention or question, and pour wax into water to receive your own message. Together, we’ll read what appears and listen for what it has to say.
This circle includes:
- Welcome, song and introductions
- A short teaching on light, darkness and wax divination
- A written reflection and sharing in small groups
- Candle lighting and wax pouring to receive your message
- Reading our wax shapes together, and a closing reflection and blessing
No experience needed, and all materials are provided. You’ll take home your wax shape as a reminder of the message you received. Whether you’re just beginning or have a long-standing practice, you’ll find clear guidance and room to go deeper.
