The Hummingbird Artist Showcase is our small way to uplift local artists by displaying their art, giving them a platform to speak about their work, and inviting our community to engage with art, creativity, and one another.
Join us in our inaugural Artist Showcase! This evening, the artists will present their work, speak on what inspired them to create, and explain their process. Please stay to view the art, talk to the artists, and enjoy light food and drink.
Autumn Session
September – November
We are so excited to introduce Ally Yuscavage as our resident Artist for the Autumn Session.
Her art will grace the walls of our space, bringing life, creativity, and new perspective to our space.
Ally will be installing a postcard collage that encourages visitors to choose an unspoken-for piece to write a message to a friend on. Then, it will return to the wall until the end of November, when they will all be sent out at once. The recipient gets a unique piece of art and a moment of connection.
Ally’s photography will also be on display. From Pennsylvania to British Columbia, Alaska to Thailand, Hawaii to New Mexico, Ally has spent years traveling the world and trying to capture moments of its immense beauty.
Her outdoor photography tries to capture the idea of “Yūgen”. Yūgen is a Japanese term that encompasses the idea of profound awareness of one’s smallness in the face of the world and the indescribable emotions such awareness can create.
This program aims to remove any financial burden on the amazing artists we work with, including avoiding us taking any percentage of sales for their work. To do this, we are asking for a $10 donation for those who come to the Showcase Gathering. We humbly ask that anyone who feels called to become a patron of the arts participate in our Showcase Gatherings by donating or purchasing from the artist directly.
